Important Information About MediConf & Our Courses

Company Background

MediConf UK is one of the fastest growing primary care education providers in the UK.  It was formed in 2007 following the success of its predecessor Fylde MedEd which provided GP education on the Fylde Coast from 1997.  We are not part of a CCG or a charity, but a private organisation.
To enable us to keep our costs to a minimum and still offer top quality education either FREE of charge or heavily discounted, it is necessary to provide sponsorship by way of a small exhibition during break times at all our events.

Courses Information

Please book all courses online.  By booking a place on a MediConf course you are agreeing to all of our Terms and Conditions outlined below.  A full copy of our Terms and Conditions is available.

After attending one of our courses, certificates of attendance and any course materials are available for 12 months after the course date by logging onto the Members Area of our website.

Please note that all confirmations will be sent to you via email ONLY acknowledging your place, candidate registration number and other essential information.

Advertised FREE courses – All FREE course places are only available to Healthcare Professionals who practice within the area that the course is being held.  Courses which are advertised as FREE of charge, are FREE to practicing GPs including Locum and Salaried GPs.  Practice Nurses including Nurse Practitioners and Advanced Nurse Practitioners employed in a Primary Care environment may also book a course place FREE of charge.  It is pertinent that at point of registration ALL Healthcare Professionals provide their current surgery address.  We do NOT accept home addresses.

All other Healthcare Professionals including those working outside of the course area, Health Visitors as well as hospital and clinic staff are required to pay the course fee of £40+VAT, £48.00. The fee is expected prior to the course and is non-refundable, nor transferable.  When booking a place on the FREE course you will be informed whether you are eligible or whether you are required to pay.

If for any reason you cannot attend the course please inform us via email to rebecca
@mediconf.co.uk Failure to inform MediConf of non-attendance may incur a charge of £25.00 to cover refreshments and administrative costs. By registering and booking a place on a course you are agreeing to the MediConf Terms and Conditions.  
Should you cancel your place and then change your mind we cannot guarantee your place again.

Fee Paying Courses - All fee courses must be paid for in advance of the course by card payment or cheque.  All paid course fees are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE.  Places on these courses are available to GPs including Locum and Salaried GPs, and Practice Nurses including Nurse Practitioners and Advanced Nurse Practitioners who practice within the area in which the course is being held.  It is pertinent that at point of registration ALL Healthcare Professionals provide their current surgery address to ensure that the correct subsidised course fee is charged.  The subsidised course fees charged are either FREE, £15, £20 or £29 dependent on the course topic.


All other Healthcare Professionals including those working outside of the course area, Health Visitors as well as hospital and clinic staff are required to pay the course fee of £40+VAT, £48.00. The fee is expected prior to the course and is non-refundable, nor transferable.  When booking a place on your chosen course you will be informed whether you are eligible to receive the course place at the subsidised rate or whether you are required to pay the course fee of £40+VAT, £48.00.

Please inform MediConf rebecca@mediconf.co.uk should you need to cancel.  We no longer enforce cancellation fees nor do we offer refunds or course transfers.  You will still have access to the course downloads via your online membership account.  Should you cancel your place and then change your mind we cannot guarantee your place again.

Assisted Sponsorship - Please be aware that our courses are either FREE of charge or heavily subsidised due assisted sponsorship from carefully selected Healthcare product and service providers.  Without the support of our valued sponsors it would be impossible to offer FREE or heavily subsidised rates, therefore, please take some time to visit the exhibition during break times.

Without the assisted sponsorship we receive, the MediConf course fee would be approximately £120 per place. 

MediConf DO NOT release delegate home address, telephone or email contact details to 3rd parties.  Occasionally we may use email addresses to inform you of future MediConf events or services provided by our supporting organisations. Facilities are available for you to unsubscribe to our services any time.

Mitigating Circumstances – On rare occasions we are forced to cancel/reschedule our courses due to circumstances outside of our control.  This could be due to a change in speakers or adverse weather conditions.  Prior to any event we will always inform delegates of any changes via email as soon as possible.  Where a course is cancelled altogether and not rescheduled, a full refund will be issued on receipt of an acknowledgement from the initial cancellation email issued by MediConf.  This allows us to ensure that each and every delegate booked onto the cancelled course has been fully informed.

Adverse Weather Conditions - In the event of adverse weather conditions on the day of a course, MediConf may have to cancel at short notice and all delegates who have paid will be refunded the full fee. We will always endeavour to reschedule the course where possible.
If the MediConf Team are able to continue to run the event as scheduled, naturally NO refunds will be made.

We will make every effort to contact our delegates, however at short notice this may not always be possible.  As a booked delegate it is your responsibility to check the MediConf website and your registered email address inbox for any notifications.  When this is not possible please telephone our office on 01253 712894.  Our office is open on every Saturday that we hold our events from 9am -5pm.  In very rare circumstances it is possible that the MediConf website will have not been updated due to time constraints or any website developments.
 
During severe winter and snow conditions, it is not always possible to predict whether a course can go ahead until the MediConf team arrive at the venue on the morning of the course at 8.00am.  In these instances it is the delegates’ responsibility to decide if it is safe to travel.
MediConf hold no responsibility for cancelling a course at 9.00am on the morning of the course if deemed necessary for the Health & Safety of the delegates or MediConf employees. Neither are we responsible for travel reimbursements.

Local parking and roadworks – MediConf are not responsible for alerting you to possible roadworks in your area, which may extend any required travel time. We do our best to ensure we chose suitable venues to hold our courses, which offer car park facilities or have carparks nearby.  If we are made aware of carpark fees or any roadworks in the area we are happy to share the information with delegates via email.  We cannot accept responsibility of carpark fees/penalties incurred or delays due to local roadworks.  Please note, the MediConf office is based in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire and we are not always aware of travel disruptions in your local area.

Course materials and certificates - After attending one of our courses, certificates of attendance and any course materials are available for 12 months after the course date by logging onto the Members Area of our website.  If you require a duplicate copy of your certificate an admin fee of £15.00 will be charged.  This payment can be made over the telephone using all major cards.

Your Information – MediConf will send you invitations to our courses via post to your surgery address.  The invitation is a MediConf flyer and where applicable includes promotional information which has been produced by the pharmaceutical company that has developed and funded or sponsored a particular MediConf course.  If you do not wish to receive postal invitations from MediConf and our partners, please inform us immediately.

By completing the online registration form on our website and booking courses you are giving MediConf permission to regularly email information including course reminders, course materials and other MediConf services.  This could include information regarding 3rd party companies including promotional materials via email which have been produced by 3rd party companies such as pharmaceutical companies working with MediConf.  MediConf does not release delegate emails to 3rd parties.   You can unsubscribe or revoke your membership at any time.

We do not have the facility to filter any of this information, therefore if you do not wish to receive the emails from MediConf, we will happily remove your details from our Membership Register.  Please be informed that if you no longer wish to be a MediConf Member you will not have access to any course certificates or materials from those you have already attended.  If you wish to attend any future courses you must re-register as a MediConf Member, you will then continue to receive regular emails.

Frequently Asked Questions

I Am Trying To Book Onto A Course Which Is Advertised At £25.00, But When I Book, It Charges £48.00

This is because you have incorrectly completed your checkout form. You must fill ALL fields, especially the Surgery postcode.

I Have Forgotten My Password

There is a green "Log In" button in the top right of your screen, simply click this and select forgotten password from the available options.

I Can't See My Certificates In My Account

The most common cause of this issue is that a second account has been created with a separate email address. Please contact a member of the MediConf team to have accounts reconciled.

How And Where Do I Obtain My Certificates And Downloads?

Log into your account, using the email address and password you registered with, this will take you to your “members area”.
