MediConf UK is one of the fastest growing primary care education providers in the UK. It was formed in 2007 following the success of its predecessor Fylde MedEd which provided GP education on the Fylde Coast since 1997. We are not part of a PCT or a charity, but a private organisation.
To enable us to keep our costs to a minimum and still offer top quality education either FREE of charge or heavily discounted, it is necessary to provide sponsorship by way of a small exhibition during break times at all our events.
Our venues now include
Blackpool, Manchester, Cumbria, Liverpool, Leeds, Birmingham, Belfast, Brighton, Cardiff, Cheltenham, Chester, Colchester, Glasgow, Kegworth, Kent, London, Middlesbrough, Milton Keynes, Norwich, Oxford, Plymouth, Southampton.
All courses which are advertised as free of charge, are only free to Practicing GPs (Inc Locums and salaried GPs) and Practice Nurses attached to a surgery. Free courses are only available to Health Professionals who Practice within the area that course is being held. If you are a locum GP, please provide a surgery address from one of the surgeries you locum at – we do NOT accept home addresses.
All other Health professionals' inc. Health Visitors, all hospital and Clinic staff are required to pay a heavily subsidised fee of £40 + VAT £48.00. The fee is expected prior to the course and is non-refundable.
All Health professionals who do not practice within the area the course is being held are also required to pay a heavily subsidised fee of £40 + VAT £48.00. The fee is expected prior to the course and is non-refundable. You will be advised via email if you do not fit the criteria.
We have limited availability for delegates who do not fit the criteria and the ONLY way to book is to telephone the office on 01253 712894 to check availability and pay via card over the phone.
Our website payment system is only set up for delegates who fit the criteria and who have received a postal mailing.
Terms & conditions for booking FREE course
If for any reason you cannot attend the meeting which has been of no charge to you, please inform us via email to janet@Mediconf.co.uk, to cut down on unnecessary costs for MediConf. Failure to do so may incur a charge of £25.00 to cover refreshments and administrative costs. By booking this course you are agreeing to the terms and conditions.
Terms & conditions for booking fee paying courses of £25, £35, £40 and £48 inc VAT
All courses must be paid for in advance of the course and are NON REFUNDABLE but may be transferred for an additional admin transfer fee of £15.00. Transfers may be made within the year of the course, or a colleague replacement.
These courses are only available to GPs and Practice Nurses who practice within the area the course is being held at this heavily subsidised rate.
Otherwise the rate is £48.00 Inc VAT The fee is also £48.00 to all other Health Professionals who DO NOT practice within a surgery.
Transfers cannot be made post course or upon cancellation on the day of the course. Credits can be carried over for a maximum of 2 months FROM the date of cancellation. Cancellations must be made via email to MediConf.
Adverse Weather Conditions
In the event of adverse weather conditions on the day of a course, MediConf may have to cancel at short notice and all delegates who have paid will be refunded the full fee. We will endeavour to re-schedule the course if possible.
However, if MediConf manage to continue to run the event there is no refund and the course can be transferred for an additional fee of £15.00.
We will make every effort to contact our delegates, however at short notice this may not be possible. It is your responsibility to check the website for notification or telephone our office on 01253 712894. The website will be updated ONLY if we have had time to add the notification to the website.
During severe snow downfalls it is not always possible to predict until the MediConf team arrive at the venue on the morning at 8.00 am if the course can go ahead. In these instances it is the delegates responsibility to decide if it is safe to travel.
MediConf hold no responsibility for cancelling a course at 9.00am on the morning of the course if deemed necessary for the Health & Safety of the delegates.
Neither are we responsible for travel reimbursements.
Cancellation policy for Courses charged at £65 Inc VAT:
If courses are cancelled 30 days or more, prior to the event a 50% refund is given. Cancellations must be via email to Janet@Mediconf.co.uk. No refunds are available otherwise. Courses may be transferred for an additional fee of £15.00 admin transfer fee. Transfers may be within the year of the course or a colleague replacement.
Certificates are always available on the day of the course. If a copy certificate is required post course, there is an admin fee of £10.00.
Annual CPD Reports
Annual CPD Certificates are now available on request at a cost of £15.00. The reports outline all the events you have attended and signed by the Medical Director. These are available as a PDF file and emailed, they can be requested at any time during the year.
Bookings made in error
No refunds are available if bookings for courses charged at £25 - £48 have been made in error. However the fee can be transferred to the appropriate course with an additional admin fee of £15.00, which must be arranged over the telephone.
