Dr Ahmed Iqbal

Dr Ahmed Iqbal is a Senior Clinical Lecturer (Associate Professor equivalent) at the University of Sheffield and an Honorary Consultant in Diabetes at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. He graduated with distinction from Newcastle University and completed integrated clinical-academic training in Diabetes and Endocrinology in Bristol and Sheffield.

He holds a PhD funded by an MRC Clinical Research Training Fellowship, focusing on hypoglycaemia and cardiovascular risk. Clinically, Dr Iqbal specialises in problematic hypoglycaemia, advanced diabetes technologies, adolescent diabetes care and cardiovascular diabetology.
