Dr Roy J. Hamilton

Dr Roy Hamilton is a GP Senior Partner with extensive experience in long-term condition management and medical education. He is a member of the British Association for the Study of Headache and has a specialist interest in migraine care. Living with migraine himself, he brings a distinctive perspective that integrates clinical expertise with lived experience and advocates for embedding the patient voice in routine practice.

Roy is an Associate Clinical Teacher at the University of Leicester and holds an MSc in Diabetes with distinction. He is a Diabetes UK Clinical Champion and works across cardio-vascular-renal-metabolic (CVRM) health, with a particular interest in reducing health inequalities. This broader work informs his approach to migraine as a complex and often under-recognised long-term condition.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys surfing, keeping fit, yoga, playing guitar and travelling in his VW camper van.
