Dr Robin Weir

Dr Weir is a consultant cardiologist based in University Hospital Hairmyres in NHS Lanarkshire with specialist interests in heart failure, cardiac devices and cardiac imaging. After graduating from Glasgow University in 2000 Dr Weir trained in hospitals throughout the West of Scotland and undertook his doctorate in post-MI ventricular remodelling under the supervision of Professors John McMurray and Henry Dargie, leading to multiple publications in this field. Dr Weir is the clinical lead for heart failure in NHS Lanarkshire and remains actively involved in clinical research in addition to leading the heart failure service, pacing service and non-invasive imaging.
