Acne affects over 90% of teenagers and for some it continues to be problematic for decades. We explore the most up to date treatment guidance, discuss practical tips for introducing therapies and consider whether we should vary practice when treating people with darker skin tones. We will also look at how social media influences skincare and uptake of prescription treatment as well as examining complications of acne and its differential diagnosis, and the role of “cosmeceuticals”.
