Dr Kevin Fernando Kevin is a portfolio GP (NHS & private) near Edinburgh. He is also Content Advisor for WebMD Medscape Global & UK and Honorary Clinical Reader at the University of Dundee. He is cofounder of CVRMUK which aims to empower HCPs to take a person-centred approach to managing CVRM conditions and drive a new model of specialty training and care delivery in the CVRM space.
Kevin is a regular keynote speaker at small and large-scale education events throughout the UK & Ireland and abroad on a range of topics.
Kevin is an accomplished medical writer, and his articles distil key guidelines and consensus for primary care as well as summarise congress highlights and breaking research and its applicability to primary care.
Kevin is renowned for creating concise clinical aide memoirs, MedScape - Primary Care Hacks to make life easier for HCPs and ultimately to improve the lives of our patients.
Kevin graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2000 and holds both MRCGP and MRCP(UK) qualifications and has completed a Master’s degree in diabetes which he passed with distinction. Kevin is also SCOPE certified in obesity management.
Kevin has been elected to Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners, the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and also the Academy of Medical Educators for his work in diabetes and medical education.

Sarah Alicea Sarah Alicea RD is a clinical academic and dietitian specialising in diabetes care. At Barts Health NHS Trust she is Clinical Lead for Diabetes and Disordered Eating, and a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Warwick, developing a screening tool to improve identification of disordered eating in people with Type 1 diabetes.
She has contributed to diabetes care nationally through guideline development and professional education, including as a member of the NICE Diabetes Quality Standards committee and co-lead author of the 2021 Best Practice in the Delivery of Diabetes Care in the Primary Care Network guidance. She is a former Chair of the British Dietetic Association (BDA) Diabetes Specialist Group and its current Research Lead, and sits on the Diabetes UK Professional Conference Organising Committee.
Her work centres on translating diabetes evidence into meaningful conversations with people with lived experience, and on supporting healthcare professionals to do the same.
In her spare time, you'll find Sarah swimming outdoors with her ginger water-dog, throwing pottery for anyone in need of a properly proportioned coffee cup, or creating a wildlife-friendly kitchen garden. She's always happy to swap growing tips.
