Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) is the new name for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). In this session we will  

  • Explore the reasons for the name change 

  • Understand the wider health implications such as metabolic and endocrine problems 

  • Detangle the often complex presentations and break down the different management options

Dr Karin Schachinger
MRCGP (2014), DCSRH, Clin. Dip. Derm.

Committee Member, Primary Care Women’s Health Society

Dr Karin Schachinger is a GP in Islington (North Central London) and the Clinical Lead for the Community Gynaecology Service in Haringey and Islington. She has also recently been appointed as Committee Member of the Primary Care Women’s Health Society (PCWHS).  

In her clinical practice she regularly sees and manages women who present with PMOS and as well as other common gynaecological conditions.  

She has contributed and co-authored local guidelines on managing these conditions in primary care and regularly speaks at conferences about women’s health related topics.
