Dr Jon Rees Jon Rees trained in Urology in Taunton and became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1999. He then spent 3 years completing research into the impact of prostate cancer on the quality of life of men and their partners, and was awarded his MD thesis in 2003. In 2004 he switched to General Practice and is now a partner at Tyntesfield Medical Group in North Somerset. He continues to work in Urology, providing Community Urology services in Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.
In 2014, he founded (and now chairs) the Primary Care Urology Society – for GP’s with an interest in Urology or who wish to develop skills in this area. (www.primarycareurologysociety.org)
Symposium Speaker Dr Stephanie Gallard has been an accredited GPwSI in Dermatology for over 20 years, as well as a non-consultant member of the British Association of Dermatologists. In addition to working in a community intermediate dermatology service, she works as a GP across several practices on the Wirral and in Liverpool, whilst remaining, licensed to practice pharmacist. The continuing dual qualification is incredibly useful. She also works on both regional and national service improvements, particularly in the field of teledermatology – such as the Primary Care lead for the Elective Care Programme for Cheshire and Merseyside, and the Primary Care Adviser for the National Teledermatology Roadmap.
She is highly in demand as a lecturer – her strong belief in quality, accessible dermatology education, especially for primary care clinicians, means she lectures on the subject regularly to a variety of audiences for a variety of organisations, including the RCGP. She is the Clinical External Examiner for the Post Graduate Dermatology Diploma for the University of Buckingham, and is on the Executive Committee of the Primary Care Dermatology Society.
