Beverley Bostock

Bev is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in long-term conditions.  She is currently President Elect of the Primary Care Cardiovascular Society.  She has a special interest in cardiovascular disease (CVD), diabetes, heart failure, chronic kidney disease and lipid management along with common comorbidities such as metabolic liver disease, asthma and COPD.  She is Editor in Chief of Practice Nurse Journal and has been a Queen’s Nurse since 2015. In a previous role she developed and delivered accredited modules in cardiovascular disease, heart failure and diabetes in collaboration with the Open University.  As well as holding an MA in Medical Ethics and Law and an MSc in Respiratory Care, Bev has a Post Graduate Diploma in Diabetes from the University of Warwick.  Bev has had an extensive range of articles published in various journals on the management of long-term conditions and is a regular speaker at national conferences.

Dr Mohamed Elnaggar

Dr Elnaggar is a Consultant Endocrinologist, Lipidologist and Clinical Lead for Lipid services at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.

He is currently also serving as Clinical Lipid lead of South Cumbria and Lancashire.
Dr Elnaggar has been involved in Lipidology teaching and research as a lecturer at the Alexandria Faculty of Medicine.
He is currently acting as an honorary lecturer in Lancaster University.

Dr Elnaggar has a great passion for education and teaching and has been involved in numerous national and international conferences and speaker events. He is also involved in several lipid related trials and is invested in research involving newer lipid lowering therapies.

Dr Kevin Fernando
GP with Specialist Interest in Diabetes/CVRM & Medical Education

Kevin is a portfolio GP (NHS & private) near Edinburgh. He is also Content Advisor for WebMD Medscape Global & UK and Honorary Clinical Reader at the University of Dundee.  He is cofounder of CVRMUK which aims to empower HCPs to take a person-centred approach to managing CVRM conditions and drive a new model of specialty training and care delivery in the CVRM space.

Kevin is a regular keynote speaker at small and large-scale education events throughout the UK & Ireland and abroad on a range of topics.

Kevin is an accomplished medical writer, and his articles distil key guidelines and consensus for primary care as well as summarise congress highlights and breaking research and its applicability to primary care.

Kevin is renowned for creating concise clinical aide memoirs, MedScape - Primary Care Hacks to make life easier for HCPs and ultimately to improve the lives of our patients.

Kevin graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2000 and holds both MRCGP and MRCP(UK) qualifications and has completed a Master’s degree in diabetes which he passed with distinction.  Kevin is also SCOPE certified in obesity management.

Kevin has been elected to Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners, the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and also the Academy of Medical Educators for his work in diabetes and medical education.

Sarah is a GP Partner in Cardiff with a special interest in diabetes.  She has been a partner for 12 years in her practice which is in a highly deprived area of South Wales.   She is the All Wales lead for diabetes in primary care and Clinical Director for Diabetes in primary care for Cardiff and Vale UHB.  She is a Diabetes UK Clinical Champion, Primary Care Diabetes and Obesity Society committee member and a regular speaker on Diabetes.

Sarah is passionate about great diabetes care in the primary care setting and upskilling her colleague to feel confident and enthusiastic in this area.
