Dr Farah Chaudhry Farah Chaudhry studied medicine in Cambridge and completed her training in London. She has enjoyed a varied career and worked as a GP in Leeds for 10 years with an interest in Women’s Health which subsequently evolved into a full-time career in SRH. Farah subsequently worked as Consultant SRH and Contraceptive Lead at Salford Royal, Bradford & Kirklees Sexual Health services.
Farah now works as Consultant SRH for Leeds Sexual Health, where she is Co-medical Lead, and Leeds Community Gynaecology. She also works for BPAS as surgeon and member of their CAG board.
Farah is General Training Programme Director for Leeds Sexual Health & Organon UK, MFSRH Examiner, CESR Evaluator, Ultrasound Special Skills Module Deputy Guardian for the FSRH and Director of Post-graduate Medical Education for Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust.
Farah has previously been CEU Guideline Fellow, Joint Faculty Regional Training Advisor for Yorkshire & Humber, and Workforce Planning Committee member for the FSRH. She is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds and a busy parent to 3 lovely daughters who are a constant reminder of the important things in life.
Dr Melanie Nana Melanie Nana is an NIHR Research Training Fellow currently studying the mechanisms underpinning the neurocognitive and metabolic consequences of children born to women with severe Hyperemesis Gravidarum at King’s College London, supervised by Professor Catherine Williamson.
In 2020 she undertook the obstetric medicine fellowship at St Thomas’ Hospital where she was taught obstetric medicine by Professor Catherine Nelson-Piercy. During that time she completed the RCP credential in obstetric medicine.
Melanie has several publications relating to obstetric medicine including the largest study exploring the lived-experience of women with hyperemesis gravidarum, a BMJ ‘State of the Art Review’ on COVID-19 in pregnancy and work relating to antiplatelet use in pregnancy. She has published chapters on COVID-19 in pregnancy in the Oxford Textbook of Medicine and pituitary and adrenal disease in pregnancy in EndoText. She is a co-author of the European Guideline for Liver Disease, the RCOG ‘The management of nausea and vomiting of pregnancy and hyperemesis gravidarum’ guidelines and developed the management flow charts for the RCOG ‘COVID-19 in pregnancy.
She has a passion for medical education and completed the RCP Doctors as Educators accreditation in 2014 and enjoys lecturing on the topic of medical problems in pregnancy across Europe and internationally.
