Level 3 Training

This is level 3 training and will count towards the participatory learning requirements as stipulated by the Intercollegiate Document – Safeguarding Children: Roles and Competencies for HealthCare Staff.

By going through some common scenarios that crop up in General Practice, I hope to illustrate:

• Some of the basic principles that underpin safeguarding children
• When to make a referral by understanding Children’s Social Services threshold models and the use of Early Help
• How to make a good referral so that it doesn’t get rejected
• How we can work with our safeguarding partners to share the load and the risk
• Some practical steps we can take to improve our safeguarding processes within our Practices
